ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Demonstrates knowledge and application of Program / Project Management disciplines in a complex healthcare information systems environment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of healthcare operations and systems.
  • Evaluates, manages the development of, and implements custom and packaged software projects.
  • Manages programs consisting of multiple projects and project teams.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with business and clinical management at the highest levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of applications development, database management and operating systems.
  • Coordinates the activities and deliverables of two to ten staff on a project team from various areas of an organization.
  • Adept in the use of Project Management tools and methodologies (project plans, project charters, change control, TDR testing, command center planning, go live planning, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate orally and verbally in a clear and concise manner. Possesses demonstrable advanced communication and leadership skills, and is adept at communicating to senior executives. Demonstrates strength in matching the level of status provided to the needs of the audience.
  • Demonstrates strong quantitative and analytical skills. In particular, analytical skills related to business and functional solution requirements and scope definition for large complex programs/projects.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the PMO, IS department, and the health system organization.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree, 15+ years of progressive experience in a complex healthcare provider environment and 10+ years demonstrated senior project leadership experience is required

Or

  • Master’s Degree, 10+ years of progressive experience in a complex healthcare provider environment, 5+ years of demonstrated senior project leadership experience, and 10+ years of demonstrated senior project leadership experience at Penn Medicine

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-entity, multi-discipline programs and projects in a large integrated healthcare information systems environment that includes acute and ambulatory providers
  • Adept in the use of Project Management tools and methodologies (project plans, project charters, change control, TDR testing, command center planning, go live planning, etc.)
  • Possesses demonstrable advanced communication and leadership skills, and is adept at communicating to senior executives. Demonstrates strength in matching the level of status provided to the needs of the audience
  • Demonstrates strong quantitative and analytical skills. In particular, analytical skills related to business and functional solution requirements and scope definition for large complex programs/projects. These skills are developed over time based on years of experience.
