WHOM ARE WE LOOKING FOR – REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree or equivalent which could be exceptional experience and achievement
  • At least 5 years’ experience within a military, law enforcement or intelligence organization, or private sector corporate security organization, or a combination of the foregoing
  • English is essential. Other regional languages would be beneficial.
  • Must be competent in personal computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities:

WHAT THIS POSITION IS ABOUT – PURPOSE

The incumbent is a senior security leader, representing the Regional Corporate Security Director (RCSD) for the assigned cluster of markets and any other security services as directed. The position provides support to the Regional Corporate Security Director in the delivery of the Corporate Security Strategy, and in the provision of support to all JTI business entities, operations, and projects within his/her specified Area of Responsibility (AOR). This AOR addresses all facets of the security program including development, review and maintenance with a risk-based and cost-effective approach which must add value to the business. Additionally, the position requires ‘hands on’ tactical engagement as required.
Primary responsibilities, include, but are not limited to, risk assessments, crisis management, personnel security, (including all aspects of travel, event and executive security), maintaining and developing effective working relationships with internal stakeholders within all regional markets, with outside law enforcement, intelligence and security agencies and business partners, managing and developing regional security teams, assessment and development of physical security arrangements incorporating the security audit program, background checks, due diligence and investigations.
The incumbent may be called upon to provide security support globally, as directed by the RCSD.

WHAT WILL YOU DO – RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Risk and Crisis Management
  • The incumbent assists the RCSD in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes, practices, and policies to reduce risk, respond to incidents, and limit exposure and liability through the development and maintenance of a Regional Security Risk Register. The overriding aim of all strategies and recommendations is to bring value from security for the business and to enable the region to meet its operational objectives
  • The incumbent is an alternate member for the RCSD of the Regional Crisis Management Team. As such, may be required to provide operational security support during crisis, investigative support as requested, and crisis/incident management training to sites and markets teams
  • The incumbent assists the RCSD to identify trends and best practices in the international business environment and make recommendations to the RCSD on development of policies and strategies to reduce vulnerability of JTI assets
  • People and Asset Security
  • Through subordinate geographically based market/factory security leads and a network of site security responsible persons and selected vendors, the incumbent manages the implementation of programs and support to ensure the security of executives, employees, stakeholders, visitors, etc. at their place of work and while on business travel within the region in his/her assigned cluster markets
  • Assist the RCSD in the provision of security support to personnel conducting business for JT/JTI in high-risk environments, to include personal protection, pre-travel or in country security briefings, residential security surveys, special event security, ground, and air transportation advice, meet and greet assistance, and advise on special projects.
  • The incumbent assists the RCSD to develop the annual CS audit plan and assists in the management of security audits and assessments and follow up recommendations of business operations
  • The incumbent assists the RCSD to manage supply chain security programs within his/her AOR to protect operations and products while ensuring brand integrity. Provides consultation across his/her cluster of markets to minimize supply chain losses, brand erosion and illicit product availability in the marketplace. The incumbent may be called upon to aid the CS supply chain lead in the region
  • As directed by the RCSD, and in coordination with other functions as appropriate (e.g., Compliance, Corporate Audit, Legal, People & Culture, H&S, GSC), the incumbent will conduct objective investigations of security-related allegations/incidents as required
  • Networking
  • Internally - maintain and develop effective working relationships with the members of the regional management team, and all market/factory leads. Develops networks throughout all functions and levels to promote and drive global security initiatives. Assists the RCSD to brief regional and market/factory leads on the status of security issues and emerging threats as required
  • Externally - develops relationships with high-level law enforcement, business partners, and international counterparts to include in-country and regional security agencies, intelligence, and private sector counterparts. Engages, by membership, in prestigious public and private security associations
  • Financial Management
  • The incumbent is expected to exercise and efficient financial management of the assigned cluster market security program which requires planning and presentation of an annual budget (LE, ASP and SPC), updates on budget within regular intervals (outlooks) and providing appropriate reports on YTD actuals and variances
  • Oversees the management of local contracts with security service vendors for guarding operations, technology applications and specialized consulting and investigative support
  • Talent Management
  • The incumbent engages and lead direct reports ensuring their continued development within their role and function adding greater value to the business, forming part of an ongoing succession plan, and supporting career aspirations.
  • The incumbent will play an active role in his/ her continued development within the CS Talent Development Program
