COST ACCOUNTANT

Gates Corporation is an industry leading manufacturer of application-specific fluid power and power transmission solutions. The company has facilities around the world serving the automotive, industrial and Oil & Gas sectors. This position is part of the Finance team, based in our Cramlington Hose Manufacturing facility.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA
- Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving skills, with a full understanding of both company policies on internal control and statutory legislation.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/Manufacturing systems.
- Self-motivation and drive to make continuous improvement in the role.
- Experience of HFM preferable.
Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly management accounts submission to Europe/Gates Corporate within strict deadlines.
- Manage forecast/budget process for Gates E&S UK entities.
- Provide finance business partnering to functional areas and management team, offering proactive information and insight for better decision-making.
- Act as deputy for UK Financial Controller when unavailable.
- Produce weekly/monthly operational performance reports, conducting variance analysis and providing commentaries.
- Oversee overhead reporting, including budgets, forecasts, actuals, month-end accruals, and prepayments.
- Maintain manual Fixed Asset Register, perform depreciation calculations, and support CAPEX proposals.
- Complete Balance Sheet Reconciliations, address reconciling items, and identify risks/opportunities with sufficient evidence for audit purposes.
- Maintain, review, and ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley risk control matrices.
