We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our team in the Aerospace industry, based in Roy, Utah. This role involves critical accounting functions and processes, particularly in relation to financial and cost accounting. You will be expected to develop processes and procedures, gather and organize financial information, and ensure compliance with all local, state, federal and corporate accounting guidelines.

  • Familiarity with CapEx and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is essential
  • Knowledge of ERP Solutions will be considered an asset
  • The ability to perform Accounting Functions effectively is mandatory
  • Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is expected
  • Familiarity with Budget Processes is necessary
  • Must have experience in Cost Accounting and Cost Analysis
  • Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed
  • Candidates should be detail-oriented and have the ability to multitask effectively
  • Knowledge of Aerospace industry standards and regulations will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile raw material, work in progress (WIP), finished goods, and calculated inventory.
  • Collect and analyze data about the company’s operational costs.
  • Set standard costs of manufactured goods.
  • Develop and analyze cost standards.
  • Perform inventory account reconciliations.
  • Support the audit process by gathering and providing cost-related information.
  • Approximate costs for new and proposed products.
  • Prepare and analyze variances including labor, purchase price, material usage, and work order variances.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory costs.
  • Gather data from multiple systems to participate in month and quarter-end close activities including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Maintain procedure and policy adherence to ensure integrity of financial data and compliance with U.S. G.A.A.P.
