Costing Analyst
Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing cost management processes, influence key business decisions, and drive global success as part of MBS (Momentive Business Services). You will deliver consistent, high-quality inputs to stakeholders across Business, Commercial, and Operations, while analyzing key drivers related to operational efficiency. Ensuring the timely and accurate flow of reporting to control functions, you will also maintain close working relationships and provide essential support to Sector Operations Finance Leaders.

This role will be based in our Global Shared Services office located in Mexico. You will be an integral part of the Global Finance Shared Services Team based in India, which offers a comprehensive range of finance support services including Controllership, Business & Operations, Corporate FP&A, Treasury, Credit & Collections, and more.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Standard Cost Management: Develop, maintain, and continuously improve standard cost models to ensure accuracy and efficiency in cost calculations across diverse manufacturing operations.
  • Perform adequate testing and report & analyse results during Actual Costing Implementation project
  • Actual Cost Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of actual costs, investigating discrepancies and variances to provide actionable insights for cost optimization strategies.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct thorough variance analysis, highlighting key drivers and collaborating with stakeholders to implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Query Resolution & Discrepancy Management: Manage and resolve cost-related queries, variances between Standard & Actual and other discrepancies promptly, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Multi-Plant Coordination: Coordinate with teams across multiple plants to gather data, harmonize cost accounting practices, and streamline reporting processes.
  • Collaboration & Engagement: Work closely with business, commercial, and product managers, providing valuable cost insights and fostering collaborative decision-making
  • Support in Month-End, Quarter-End and Year-End Closing activities.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • Qualified Cost Accountant with 4+ years of experience in cost accounting, variance analysis, and standard cost management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP systems and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
