We are currently seeking a Temporary Full Time staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine on a 12 month contract (Maternity Leave replacement).

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Coordinator Risk and Compliance, we are seeking an exceptional Council Business Officer who can bring their skills and experience to provide administrative assistance to the Councillor Support team, and assist the Mayor and Councillors.
The position will co-ordinate and provide advice and support in relation to Council business and Councillor functions particularly in relation to Council’s meeting cycle, including council meetings, briefings, hearing committees.

To be considered you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in governance, law, communications, or business administration, and/or relevant experience in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • Experience in meeting management and electronic agenda and minutes production, including proofing and formatting of documents.
  • Experience working within a legislative context, including providing advice and applying policy under supervision.
  • Experience providing administrative support in local government or similar environment or to executive personnel.
  • Well-developed political acumen, including ability to assess issues and information and involve relevant parties in generating solutions or providing advice.
