ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Lecturer is responsible for contributing to the operation of the higher education division, and the development, teaching, and assessment of subjects in the online Bachelor of Counselling, Master of Counselling, Diploma of Counselling Practice and/or Graduate Certificates in Counselling.
This is a full-time office-based position with a 6-month probationary period. The work hours are 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. The role is also available on a part-time basis with a minimum of 0.6 of a full-time role.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and conduct online lectures and tutorials.
  • Develop study materials including online lectures and materials for assigned subjects in accordance with approved subject outlines.
  • Provide study assistance to students in the following modes: face-to-face, online, over the phone, or via email.
  • Encourage and monitor the engagement of students in their studies
  • Develop and conduct face-to-face residential school sessions for relevant subjects, including assessing students during the residential schools.
  • Mark student assessments and provide feedback in accordance with assessment and moderation policies.
  • Identify and liaise with students at risk and establish individual learning plans as needed.
  • Maintain subject sites on the Learning Management System
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills in counselling and in higher education teaching and learning
