About us
ESFORIN is a European energy startup with ~50 employees that focuses on the algorithm-based flexibility management as a service. In the light of a growing share of volatile power generation from renewables, we help energy consumers and producers optimize their energy consumption and production, reduce their costs and carbon footprint, and participate in the energy markets. We are the European market leader in this business, with a large customer portfolio across Germany, France, the Netherlands and Austria.
About the role

We are looking for a Country Manager Nordics (m/f/d) to join our team and lead our expansion into Sweden, Finland and Denmark. You will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Customer acquisition in the Nordics: You will identify, approach and close deals with potential customers from various sectors, such as industry, utilities, battery investors and operators or biogas producers.
  • Tailoring of the product offering to local needs: You will work closely with our Strategy & Growth team to adapt our product portfolio and value proposition to the specific requirements and opportunities of the Nordics market.
  • Constant monitoring of local regulation and assessment of its impact on ESFORIN’s local business: You will keep track of the regulatory developments and changes in the Nordics energy market and evaluate their implications for our business model and strategy.
  • Monitoring of local market trends and adaption of the local sales strategy: You will monitor the market dynamics, customer needs and competitive landscape in the Nordics and adjust your sales approach and tactics accordingly.
  • Local marketing: You will collaborate with our central marketing team to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns and events to raise awareness and generate leads in the Nordics.
  • Management of potential regional partnerships: You will explore and establish strategic partnerships with local stakeholders, such as energy suppliers, aggregators, associations and regulators, to create synergies and leverage our market position.
  • Collaboration with the central operations team in Essen: You will coordinate with our operations team to develop the optimal solution for each customer and ensure a smooth and efficient customer onboarding and service delivery process.
  • Regular reporting of key KPIs: You will report on the performance and progress of the Nordics business to the management team and the board on a regular basis.

About you

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following requirements:

  • 5+ years of sales experience: You have a proven track record of successfully selling complex and innovative solutions or services, preferably in the energy sector or a related field.
  • Background or experience in the energy industry: You have a solid understanding of the energy market, its players, its challenges and its opportunities, especially in the Nordics.
  • Fluent command of English and at least one local language (Swedish, Finnish, Danish): You are able to communicate effectively and persuasively with customers and partners in the Nordics, as well as with our international team.
  • Experience with the analysis and development of new markets: You have the ability to conduct market research, identify customer segments, assess market potential and devise local market entry and growth strategies.
  • Willingness to travel and to spend significant time with customers on-site: You are ready to travel frequently within the Nordics and occasionally to our headquarters in Germany, and to spend a substantial amount of time with customers on their premises.

What we offer

As a Country Manager Nordics (m/f/d) at ESFORIN, you will benefit from the following:

  • Competitive compensation package: You will receive a fair and attractive salary and bonus, as well as a generous vacation policy.

  • Tailored learning and professional development offers: You will have access to a variety of learning and development opportunities, such as online courses, coaching, mentoring and feedback sessions, to support your personal and professional growth.
  • Flexibility in terms of working hours: You will have the freedom to arrange your working schedule according to your preferences and needs, as long as you deliver results and meet your objectives.
  • Flat hierarchies and opportunity to actively shape a significant part of ESFORIN’s growth story: You will have a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, as well as the chance to make a real impact on the success and future of ESFORIN in the Nordics and beyond.
