Top Accountabilities:

  • Implement UAE market strategy to optimize growth opportunities, market share win and profit enhancement.
  • Build strong relationship and bring value for customers by locking commercial deals and build JUBP with Diageo’s distributor and top customers, driving sustainable and profitable growth across the value chain.
  • Prepare for QBRs with distributor with a clear set of action plan.
  • Generate ideas grounded in a deep understanding of customer requirements and manage them through to successful execution
  • Deliver brand performance targets, in terms of volume, net sales and market share, which are in line with UAE commercial strategy.
  • Lead on the forecast submission for the market.
  • Implement an omnichannel strategy ensuring a cohesive consumer experience across all channels (e-com, on trade and off trade).
  • Lead the relationship with key and relevant partners (external and internal), especially distributors while keeping a sustainable, mutually profitable and strong partnership

Responsibilities:

Scope:
Diageo has newly established MENA as a standalone market within Europe next to 5 other entities: Northern Europe, Southern Europe, Eastern Europe, GB and Ireland. MENA primordially a whisky market and has one of the highest market share & brand equity for Johnnie Walker.
Currently distributing to 12 diverse markets, the region is split in 3 different sub-regions:
Gulf (UAE, Qatar, Saudi, Bahrain, Oman, FTZ), Levant (Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq) and North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria).
The country manager UAE will manage all 3 channels: UAE On-trade, Retail and E-commerce.
MENA headquarter is in Dubai while Beirut Operations is run from Lebanon Hub.

Purpose of the role

  • The Country Manager UAE role is a key member of the Gulf Org Structure.
  • You will be responsible for implementing commercial strategies and bringing to life all brand plans while driving value market share and exporting standard processes to Diageo global.
  • You will be in close contact with the distributor’s marketing team to ensure a close, trustful, and fruitful relationship is in place with both the distributor and customers (trade).
  • The role needs to build connections with influential people in the trade, bartenders, outlet managers and business owners demonstrating on the fact that Diageo is present and close to the market.
