As part of our Risk Management division, we are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Country Risk Analyst.
REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced degree in economics with a focus on macroeconomics, or undergraduate degree in economics with relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of official macroeconomic statistics such as national accounts, public finances, and balances of payments.
- Strong quantitative skills with the ability to extract insights from large datasets; familiarity with econometrics is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to interact with stakeholders across the bank.
- Familiarity with EBRD’s Countries of Operation is desirable.
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF JOB
As a Country Risk Analyst, you will play a vital role in sharing the country risk workload with the Associate Director, Head of Country Risk. Additionally, you will be responsible for specific areas such as preparing the monthly Country Risk Update and deputizing for the Associate Director when necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce country risk sheets for allocated countries in accordance with the agreed production schedule.
- Prepare macroeconomic data tables and charts for ongoing analysis of risks in EBRD’s Countries of Operation.
- Contribute to recurring briefing reports for senior leadership by providing insights into macroeconomic environments.
- Monitor sovereign and country exposures for potential concentrations or material developments.
- Monitor changes in sovereign ratings of external rating agencies for EBRD’s Countries of Operation.
- Assist in managing internal ratings and maintain a log of material macroeconomic and political developments.
- Analyze macroeconomic and political developments in Countries of Operation and contribute to ad hoc reports.
- Lead country risk visits, meet senior representatives, and produce trip reports to drive EBRD’s risk appetite.
- Participate in various executive Bank committees and initiatives within Risk Management or bank-wide.
