Description:

The Library Learning Services team is looking for a full time Course Collections Assistant to help support our Resource Lists service that provides online reading lists for students and which the Library uses to manage the provision of materials for teaching. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy academic library supporting a key service and gain a wide range of library experience.
This is an open-ended (permanent) post. The current working pattern is Monday-Friday 9-5pm (35 hours per week). Hybrid working is an option with a minimum of two days a week working on campus. When you work on campus, you will be based in the Main Library, George Square.

WHAT THE JOB INVOLVES:

You will join the Library Learning Services team and help us support delivery of the Resource List service that provides online reading lists for students and which the Library uses to manage the provision of materials for teaching.
You will create and review Resource Lists using the Library’s reading list system (Leganto) and Library Management System (Alma).
You will follow and interpret service policy documentation to manage purchase and scan requests and moves of physical items to Reserve Collections to ensure students have access to the library resources they need for their courses.
This is an interesting and varied role with the opportunity to work closely with a number of Collections Services teams including Content Acquisition & Access, E-reserve and Scan & Deliver.
Your role will also involve responding to support queries from academic staff, usually using our call management system, but occasionally via Teams. Therefore, you will be an effective communicator who is confident and experienced in providing support to library users and can demonstrate initiative to solve complex user enquiries.
You will also contribute to the development of support materials for academic staff and students including training guides and updating web pages.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who is looking for a career in libraries.
You’ll find more information about our Resource Lists service here.
