About Us
The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the Role
The Court Operations Officer will contribute to the identification of, and assistance with, process improvements and local projects that support the operations of the court. While the role will predominately support Specialist Family Violence Courts (SFVC), the incumbent may be directed to support other programs and jurisdictions within MCV.

About You

  • Develop, implement, and coordinate efficient operational and administrative processes including document tracking and control and adopt a continuous improvement mindset with a view to streamlining processes.
  • Develop and maintain essential business documents including, but not limited to, work plans and reports, organisational charts, contact lists, information databases, and tracking systems.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with the judiciary , external organisations, groups and individuals that interface with the court in the delivery of operational goals and objectives.
  • Operate relevant computer systems, including case management systems and other platforms to ensure information is accurately recorded.
  • Under direction, facilitate referrals to court-based support services and community-based service providers attending or supporting the court.
  • Contribute to the facilitation and administration of pre-court engagement functions.
  • Under direction, coordinate and administer finance and people related processes.
  • Coordinate and contribute to projects and initiatives relating to the operational needs of the court, including planning, coordinating tasks, and tracking the completion of milestones.
  • Provide advice and support in the application of organisation policies and procedures in consultation with relevant teams within MCV.
  • Draft and prepare briefings and formal communications relating to the operational functioning of the court, ensuring compliance with organisational standards.
  • Prepare evidence-based reports, based on research and data analysis, to inform and optimise the courts’ resources, procedures, and operational decision making.
