WHO YOU ARE:

We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Courtesy Officer. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationship with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director of Environmental Services, the Courtesy Officer is primarily responsible for assuring a safe and secure environment for all residents and staff. Secondly the Courtesy Officer will respond to all emergency calls initiated by residents or staff and alert local authorities as needed.

Accountabilities:

  • Patrol community premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, equipment and vehicles.
  • Alert authorities in case of a fire, presence of an unauthorized persons or medical emergency. Dispatch ambulance or non-emergency medical transportation as needed.
  • Answer any questions, and provide information to residents during non-business hours or when concierge is off-duty.
  • Monitor and adjust controls that regulate building systems, such as air conditioning, furnace or boiler.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Complete work orders with Maintenance items
  • Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
  • Demonstrates the community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates and vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate or equivalent required; graduate of accredited technical school preferred, but not required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Position may require certifications or licenses as determined by local authority.
