OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work alongside the film production technical and teaching team to demonstrate post-production software (Da Vinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, Adobe premiere) and support the operational delivery of all aspects of our film production technical team, including our equipment loan service. The role will demonstrate in scheduled classes, workshops and ad hoc one-to-one sessions with Students and Staff. The role holder will be based at our MediaCity campus where our post-production facilities are, with occasional work in Newton Building on the Peel Park campus where our practical teaching/filming classes are taught and our equipment loan service operates from.
You will have excellent knowledge and experience of film production editing and facilities, organising and maintaining resources and good administration skills.
You will be expected to demonstrate high levels of initiative, and be creative, enthusiastic, open, and collaborative. You must demonstrate outstanding customer service, organisational skills, together with a high level of self-motivation and a commitment to working as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate correct methods and techniques for DaVinci Resolve, and other editing software i.e. Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro to students, staff and external customers either on a one-to-one ad-hoc basis, within scheduled classes and workshops and via creation of video written documentation and user guides.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to student, staff, and external clients regarding the use of the post-production/editing facilities.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to students and staff working to professional post-production workflows
  • Manage and provide dedicated technical and maintenance support of post-production/editing facilities ensuring that KPIs for performance and equipment uptime are met.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of appropriate systems and new developments in the specialist area and use this to inform the future development of the learning environment, providing advice to develop facilities in line with current trends.
