Job Summary
To conduct and in-depth, specialised and quality assessment risk analysis on potential and existing AVMS and Fleet Card portfolio, to enhance the decision-making process involved in determining the Bank’s appetite to extend credit to clients. Effective Financial Analysis, interpretation and capturing of client’s information (company financial statements) and qualitative data into a Credit application, providing the Bank’s stakeholders and Credit Department with a clear view on risk and appetite with a view to making sound Credit Decisions.
To ensure all risk areas within the AVMS and Fleet Card environment are monitored and mitigated, and where necessary escalated to the correct Leadership Members to mitigate such risk.

Job Description

  • Monitor client’s performance on a continuous basis for risk indicators and perform formal reviews at specified time intervals to identify any changes in the client’s business or operating environment.
  • Monitor adherence of covenants and conditions of grant on a continuous basis and discuss any deviations and possible concerns with Sales team and escalate to Line Management and Credit if necessary.
  • Create and maintain a detailed due diligence record of the client portfolio’s, detailing what facilities clients have, so that information is readily available for reporting purposes.
  • Monitor and report boundary events in terms of the Operational Risk Boundary.
  • Obtain input from Product Industry Specialist, where appropriate to assist in client solutioning and credit application process.
  • Identify the need for a meeting between high-risk clients, Credit and Senior Risk Manager.
  • Request updated values on all tangible security, which security serve as security for facilities in line with AVMS and ABSA Credit policies.
  • Request updates on all Insurance Policies in respect of all vehicles financed by AVMS.
  • Manage and communicate the risks associated with outstanding securities.
  • Request and manage outstanding Financial Statements as stipulated in the AVSM / ABSA Credit policy.
  • Action and manage arrears on all live accounts, following up on arrears and ensuring that the AVMS and Fleet Card Book does not run into 90 day arrears buckets. Contact clients in need for rectification.
  • Explore new, improved, and alternative ways of solutioning client credit requirements.
  • Adhere to AVMS and ABSA Bank’s credit policies and procedures and ensure that they are fully complied with and that any policy breaches have been suitably addressed and mitigated.
  • Adhere to AVMS and ABSA’s Credit Policy when considering a request to open the system to load limits.
  • Pro-actively manage credit risks associated with the portfolio of clients and their related products.
  • Manage and drive the deal forum process to ensure quality applications are submitted to the Sanctioners with sustainable credit solutions.
  • In the event of a client visitation prepare a focused call report.
  • Compile reviews, amendments, and new applications to the appropriate lending authorities.
  • Issue facility letters to clients after reviews have been compiled and new facilities granted.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate and up to date credit files, which include a set of financials, valuations, credit decisions and all client related communication.
  • Spread client’s financials on the various Credit Risk Grading models i.e., Agri Model, Public Sector Model, RiskCalc Model and CIB SPEAR Model.
  • Provide the Default Grading (DG) output from the Credit Risk models within 24 hours of receiving the request.
  • Capture all information on the various risk grading models 100% accurately by checking that all the models balance.
  • Respond to queries relating to the DG output by explaining the process followed and the model used to generate the DG output. Escalate all technical queries relating to the various risk grading models to the relevant system owners.

Education
Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
