Description du poste
We are seeking a Credit Analyst to work out of our Atlantic Regional Office based in Dartmouth, NS.
Reporting to the Credit Manager, the Credit Analyst is responsible for a portfolio of clients. The analyst evaluates credit requests of new and existing clients through research and analysis of financial documents, and shares recommendations in a timely fashion. The Credit Analyst role involves working closely with customers and must possess excellent customer service skills to manage positive relationships, while meeting professional and corporate objectives. The candidate will also interact with managers and staff at all levels of the company, so a positive attitude is paramount.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position dealing with high volume business to business collections in a fast paced environment;
  • Credit Professional CCP an asset;
  • Degree in finance, accounting and administration, or other relevant education is preferred;
  • Must have experience reading and analyzing Equifax, and other related credit reports for risk assessment/credit granting;
  • Experience with legal contracts including liens an asset;
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook (MS Office);
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken;
  • Professional and courteous phone manner;
  • Motivated and results oriented with desire to take responsibility of assigned tasks;
  • Must be able to work independently;
  • Must have strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and make decisions in a timely manner;
  • Credit experience in the construction industry is an asset;
  • Must have exemplary time management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Make collection calls and follow up regularly to ensure prompt payment received by customers;
  • Perform regular financial reviews to assess risk;
  • Process credit card payments;
  • Assist with cash application process as necessary;
  • Process and approve new credit applications within credit policy and guidelines;
  • Maintain customer files and setting up new accounts in system;
  • Temporarily suspend credit privileges as necessary;
  • Complete comprehensive credit inquiries;
  • Optimize sales and minimize losses from slow receivables and bad debt;
  • Liaise with Business Centre Managers to update on receivables and ensure disputes get addressed in a timely manner;
  • Develop and maintain teamwork both internally and externally to ensure that accounts remain in good standing;
  • Other duties as assigned by Credit Manager.
