Senior Credit Analyst - Asset Finance

This role offers the opportunity to assess the creditworthiness of potential clients and manage risk associated with financing transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience in evaluating credit applications related to asset-based lending, with a keen understanding of industry-specific risk factors and market trends.

Responsibilities:

As a Credit Analyst specialising in Asset Finance, you will play a pivotal role in assessing the creditworthiness of potential clients and managing the risk associated with financing transactions. Your expertise in evaluating complex credit applications related to asset-based lending will be crucial in this role. You will work closely with various teams within the organisation to structure financing solutions that meet client needs while aligning with the organisation’s risk appetite. Your ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely will be essential as you present your recommendations and findings to senior management.
Conduct thorough credit analyses of prospective clients applying for asset finance, evaluating their financial statements, credit history, and business operations to assess risk.
Analyse the underlying collateral, including equipment, machinery, and other tangible assets, to determine their value and liquidity.
Develop detailed financial models to forecast cash flows, assess debt service coverage ratios, and evaluate the impact of various financing structures on client portfolios.
Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Sales Teams, and Underwriters to structure financing solutions that meet the needs of clients while aligning with the organisation’s risk appetite.
Present credit recommendations and findings to senior management, highlighting key risk factors, mitigating strategies, and opportunities for portfolio growth.
Monitor existing asset finance portfolios, performing periodic reviews to assess credit quality, identify potential risks, and recommend appropriate remedial actions when necessary.
