GENERAL SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting credit and fraud analyses including collating, analyzing and interpreting data on existing and prospective customers and portfolios across Europe. They must have the ability to quickly make decisions / recommendations based on findings to help minimize risk and potential loss regarding suspect accounts. Using this data they will be required to participate in special projects, support the drafting and implementation of new policies, guidelines, strategic planning and initiatives to improve the credit, fraud and loss prevention process.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fraud and Credit experience is an advantage but not essential.
  • Good investigatory skills.
  • Ability to think outside the box.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Good database extraction and manipulation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

SKILLS / DISPOSITION:

  • Excellent knowledge of credit and fraud procedures / policies.
  • Strong analytical skills in relation to evaluating risk with the ability to interpret and manipulate datasets (would be an advantage)
  • Thorough knowledge of organization, business practices, business philosophy, and ethics.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills.
  • Well-developed customer service/relations skills.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF etc.)

Responsibilities:

  • Manages risk management strategies and other elements of the European portfolio including credit quality, loss analysis and improvement in MIS relating to risk reporting.
  • Supports the current risk processes in place and constantly looks to question and develop.
  • Initiates and maintains credit policy to support the changing dynamics of our customer base.
  • Develops and maintains databases and programs to support reporting requirements.
  • Constantly highlights risk and identifies suspect accounts and potential problems; makes appropriate decisions to mitigate the risk and potential loss.
  • Works closely with all departments in Elavon to develop new methodologies, channels and strategies to meet customer needs, maximize profitability and reduce / minimize losses.
  • Ensure that we feed our loss experience back into our risk management framework, boarding and monitoring processes.
  • Help to build real time behavioral monitoring to improve the methods and speed by which we identify suspect customer accounts and head off losses.
  • Help to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of loss reporting within the business.
