Galway Plant and Tool Hire (GPT) is a one of Ireland’s largest and most successful plant, commercial vehicle hire specialists. GPT is part of The Briggs Equipment Group, a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland.
We are now looking for a Credit Controller to join our successful and growing Finance team in Galway.
Responsibilities:
THIS IS ROLE YOU WILL BE:
- Accountable to the Financial Controller for debt levels experienced with assigned customers.
- Evaluating customer debt positions and changes in customer payment behaviour.
- Maintaining clean client records.
- Agreeing customer payment plans in conjunction with the Finance Controller.
- Completing cash collection information for inclusion in the wider business KPIs.
- Using debt reports to investigate customer debts down to invoice level.
- Conducting monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable ledger accounts.
- Completing bank reconciliations (receipts and loan accounts) as required.
- Overseeing/completing the forwarding of monthly statements to customers to keep them updated on the debt status of their account.
- Setting up new customer credit accounts in line with agreed guidelines
- Ensuring daily cash and debtor targets are met.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE:
- Previous experience work within a credit control role
- Excellent understanding of credit control procedures and processes
- Assertive and confident in approach
- Good communication skills
- Accuracy and good attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of Excel and Microsoft programs
