JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Vice President of Credit, the Credit Operations Manager supervises as staff of credit professionals responsible for the delivery of high level, professional, administrative services and expertise that requires in-depth knowledge of the assigned functional area. Analyzes, interprets and resolves inquiries from customers and/or internal clients regarding policies and procedures applicable to the assigned area. Manages workflow and ensures that service expectations are met. Under limited direction, administers and supervises special projects and programs for the area. Compiles and analyzes reports for management and makes recommendations. The position is also responsible for driving risk strategy through the team’s performance analyzing credit profiles and know your customer activities. Delegates work and provides direction to staff.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Typically eight to 10 years of operations or administrative experience
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Advanced knowledge of functional area, applicable systems and policies and procedures for the assigned area
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Thorough knowledge of the organization’s human resources policies and procedures
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Well-developed ability to resolve complex problems with minimal guidance
- Knowledge to perform basic financial statement analysis and ratio calculations
- Prepare weekly and monthly management reports quantifying group results and trends
- Experience training developing staff members and driving a high level of performance associated with the business credit underwriting function.
- Ability to function in grey areas and represent the team as a subject matter expert when escalations occur
- One or more years of supervisory experience preferred
