WHAT’S THE ROLE?

As the Credit Risk Operations Manager, you are responsible for supporting the retail and commercial credit risk teams with operations, reporting, and lending system and application process development. You will provide analytical support, while ensuring clear processes and procedure adherence, ensuring alignment with both business and risk management objectives. In collaboration with the Commercial Services and Credit Risk teams, you will direct efforts among cross-functional teams to define process requirements, prioritize features, and ensures value creation through commitment to process improvement. As Credit Risk Operations Manager you are responsible for developing, implementing, and managing policies related to credit and ensuring they are compliant with regulatory requirements.

YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Participating in the development and delivery of the credit risk strategic plan, annual operating plan, and budget for overall area of responsibility.
  • Supports in identifying emerging issues and trends to inform decision making.
  • Contributing to the roadmap development for retail and commercial lending applications and systems that align with organizational strategic goals.
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of changes in regulatory requirements, ensuring alignment of systems and management practices comply with regulations and policies.
  • Developing lending policies and management practices, instituting a robust framework for approval, version control, and adherence to regulatory requirements and strategic alignment.
  • Organizing procedures and job aids, utilizing both written and visual media for efficient retrieval and comprehension.
  • Regularly monitoring and assessing the loans origination processes to ensure compliance with risk appetite, policies, and regulations.
  • Collaborating with internal and external audit teams providing comprehensive documentation and support during audits of loans origination processes and policies.
  • Continuous improvement through regular review and refinement of processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness continually.
  • Reporting key data and enhancing data quality through system improvements and policy adjustments.
  • Supporting the development of layered analysis reporting, focusing on providing relevant data for the identification of key existing and emerging risks.
  • Consulting with data stakeholders/users to develop and manage a data maturity roadmap, identifying priorities for enhancing credit risk data management and stewardship.
  • Supporting change management initiatives to facilitate a smooth transition and adoption of new products and processes.
  • Providing effective leadership by creating a trusted environment that fosters collaboration and innovation, ensures a respectful, engaging productive work environment and positive culture.
  • Ensuring that the Credit Risk department has the capacity, information, training, and tools required to meet current and long-term objectives.
  • Providing leadership to ensure that operational goals, strategies, decisions, and actions are aligned with the corporate vision and strategic framework.
  • Creating a departmental culture that facilitates open and immediate access to information.
