Description:
SUMMARY:
The Credit Policy Sr Manager & Commercial Payments Credit Officer is responsible for assisting the Credit Policy Director & Commercial Payments Regional Credit Officer with the coordination, communication, and management of credit policies and with the coordination, administration, and communication of approval and monitoring processes for commercial payments.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10 or more years of progressively, responsible experience in credit risk management, developing credit risk policies and processes.
- Familiarity with the characteristics of a broad array of products/risk areas, such as: Commercial Lending; Commercial Real Estate Lending; Specialty & Product Lending; Commercial Payments, especially Automated Clearing House (ACH)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s Degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideally the candidate possesses a strong combination of the following experiences and capabilities:
- Direct work with or use of policies within a financial institution
- Working knowledge of all facets of direct and indirect credit risk via credit products, including various deposit-related products such as Automated Clearing House
- Understanding of credit risk management and control frameworks
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and concepts underlying credit policies
- Technical writing skills with an ability to translate concepts and strategies into clear and concise written documents
- Collaborative approach to the development of a final work product that satisfies regulatory requirements and is functional for users with varied skill levels and skill sets
- Ability to manage and function effectively in a multi-step or multi-task environment while adhering to deadlines and time constraints

Responsibilities:
- Manage timely periodic review and amendments of multiple polices over varied timeframes.
- Assist with maintaining and evolving existing credit policies and supporting documents, in-line with changes to business strategy and risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and industry practices.
- Foster consistent standards and policy design among credit policies.
- Assist with coordination of first, second, and third lines of defense teams on policy reviews and updates to ensure conformance with regulatory expectations, internal governance framework, and efficient practices.
- Assist with drafting of new policies and/or amendments to policy.
- Monitor regulations and internal governance to ensure policies appropriately reflect requirements.
- Facilitate policy communication and coordinate publication of policies for user access.
- Maintain policy training materials and participate in policy training as needed.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of credit policy job aids.
- Assist in the development, review, and updates of policies and procedures related to commercial payments.
- Monitor regulations and Nacha to ensure credit policies and underwriting guidance appropriately align with requirements.
- Support various commercial payment credit risk activities as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
