Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE

As a Crew Controller in the Operations Control Department, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of the Aer Lingus crewing operations on a 24/7 basis, through compliant, efficient, safe and customer driven processes across the Aer Lingus network for both Long-haul and Short-haul operations on the Irish and UK AOC operations. Our Operations Control Department helps us to drive Aer Lingus’ ambition by ensuring all flights are fully crewed for an on-time departure and monitoring all crew rosters for regulatory compliance and delivery of the Aer Lingus schedule.

Your responsibilities as a Crew Controller will include:

  • Manage crew resources on published rosters, both Pilot and Cabin Crew, at all Crew Bases, in the most efficient and cost-effective way, in compliance with documented statutory and regulatory requirements, prioritising safety and on-time performance in all decisions.
  • Daily tasks include hands on approach in dealing with flight schedule disruption, confirming adequate crew allocations on each operation, validating that all crew are qualified and trained for each role they are allocated, booking of crew logistics such as hotels and transportation.
  • Play a pivotal role in achieving the On-time performance KPI targets of Aer Lingus.
  • Responsible for cost efficiencies by ensuring all crewing resources are deployed in the most cost effective and productive way.
  • Deal directly with crew on all matters relating to the integrity and maintenance of the Aer Lingus schedule as applicable to crewing operations.
  • Maintain overall roster stability and efficiency by collaborating closely with Crew Control colleagues, Operations Control Duty Manager, Flight Operations, Inflight Services and other stakeholders of the operation, and by managing changes to the published roster and minimising the impact of irregular operations on all aspects of crewing.
  • Develop and deliver operational contingency plans to manage disruption over both short/extended periods. Provide expert advice on best practice crewing operations in line with EASA requirements.
  • This role requires detailed knowledge of pilot and cabin crew Flight Time Limitations (FTL) and Flight Duty Period (FDP) rules and their implications on active / live flight operations.
  • Manage crew logistic requirements including Hotel accommodation, allowances, deadheading tickets and ground transportation for crew involved in the operation of the schedule.
  • Manage crew Block hours and Duty hours, and ensure records are accurately maintained in full compliance with the approved Flight Time Limitations Scheme and ensure that all crew operate within all relevant regulatory frameworks, Working Condition Agreements and Company policies to ensure compliance and take appropriate action to rectify any non-compliance issues.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders on any changes to Pilot/Cabin Training programmes on the live roster and repair training footprints to maintain crew training.
