Description:

The Crew HR Senior Manager is the first point of contact for the HR Team onboard across the fleet and supports the, in all matters related to the management of our crew. The Crew HR Manager works closely with the corporate Crew HR Teams across the sites, the Hotel Operations Team and the New Building & Refurbishment Teams to enhance and provide the best experience for our crew.

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources or Psychology.
  • 10+ years’ experience as HR Director onboard of cruise ships.
  • At least 1 contract as HR Director onboard MSC Cruises ships.
  • Good knowledge of MSC HR onboard procedures and in-depth knowledge of international maritime law (MLC and TAC).
  • Good knowledge of MSC organisational structure for onboard functions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams and cultures.
  • Total attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong decision-making skills with proficiency in Excel or other data analysis tools.
  • Fluency in English is required, any other language is an advantage.

1.Support HR Team onboard – 50%

  • Recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management of HR Directors & HR Specialists (ca 70 people).
  • Point of reference for HRDs for Well Being and ad hoc topics.
  • Supervision of the Travelling Fleet Supervisors (scheduling, expenses, questions, connection with other departments to finalize projects, etc.).
  • Regular onboard visits to ensure implementation of projects (1w every 6w max).

2.Crew Welfare \/ BETTER Project continuous

implementation – 30%

  • Administration and reporting on all surveys, both routine - BETTER Quarterly survey & Yearly Write to the CEO survey – and ad hoc.
  • Link with Employee Engagement for all activities (Long Service Awards, festivities, new builds party, Christmas packs and raffles, etc.) and close monitoring of the Welfare Accounts on ships.
  • Implementation and follow up with Refurbishment and New Builds: hair waves, restyling crew areas, offices, new builds, etc.
  • Continuous improvement of crew discounts and crew benefits.
  • Follow up of new wellbeing and engagement activities onboard (HRS scope) and cooperation with Crew Pursers onboard.

3.Policies & ad hoc – 20%

  • Liaise continuously with IT Department for improvements of Pelago and new implementations (e.g. end of contract survey, couple allocation, etc.).
  • Ensure implementation and review of all new policies and procedures and processes (onboarding for managers, inductions, HR handbook, transshipment policy, internal mobility, temporary assignment, etc.).
  • Ad hoc support for projects and other activities (e.g. check in\/out on Infoship, crew laundry, disembark meeting, etc.).
