How you make a difference:
As the Senior Director of Crisis Communications and Reputation Management, you will lead the development and execution of effective crisis communication strategies, leveraging exceptional communication skills and strategic acumen to navigate high-pressure situations. Your role will involve proactively managing and mitigating reputational risks, ensuring transparent communication during enterprise issues, and safeguarding the organization’s brand and reputation through the development and execution of proactive reputation management campaigns and crisis playbooks. Additionally, you will provide senior leadership to the communications team, guide media relations, and collaborate closely with Government Affairs, Legal, and Executive teams to ensure the quality of communications with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive crisis communication strategies, addressing potential risks across multiple contracts while ensuring compliance with client communication requirements.
- Execute crisis communication protocols and processes, conducting risk assessments and simulations to enhance preparedness for healthcare crises.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare media outlets, journalists, and influencers to shape narratives and manage inquiries during crises.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing transparent updates and addressing concerns to maintain trust.
- Craft clear, empathetic messaging for internal and external audiences, adapt messaging based on situations, and conduct post-crisis analysis for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
- Requires a BA/BS degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related area
Experience
- 7-10 years of related experience with issues management and crisis communication, with a strong focus on the healthcare industry; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
