Description:
GENERAL SKILLS:
- Experience with medical imaging technologies and solutions, including DICOM and Non-DICOM data archives, repositories and associated database technologies, communication protocols and interoperability standards
- Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models) specializing in medical imaging solutions that are provincially scalable
- Leadership experience in the development and implementation of cloud-based solution architectures at the specified experience level
- Experience in the use of data and process modelling methodologies, techniques and tools, including a working knowledge of metadata structures, repository functions, and data dictionaries
- Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and directions, specifically in medical imaging enterprise solutions
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent working experience in Information Technology is required.
- 10+ years experience as a Solution Architect in medical imaging technology solutions involved in day-to-day technical and business work, representing asset(s) in discussions for broader solutions, and guiding integration with/use of system/ domain is required.
- Knowledge of Ontario Health, and the broader Ontario health care sector IT systems to ensure product dependencies are identified and managed.
- Knowledge of Architectural disciplines such as Business, Application, Information, Infrastructure, Privacy and/or Security.
- Knowledge of service management, control, and architecture frameworks such as ITIL, PMBOK, COBIT, Zachman, TOGAF, Rational, and/or Agile.
- Knowledge of Legislative boundaries and privacy regulations unique to Ontario and Canada.
- Knowledge of Patient safety considerations.
- Knowledge of Public Sector procurement legislation, policies, and practices.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for creating architectures, roadmaps, and plans to modernize and integrate provincial medical imaging assets in Ontario within the provincial electronic health record, leveraging multiple Ontario Health products and services
- Acts as subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders in specialized area of medical imaging technology solutions, including cloud-based opportunities enabling provincial scalability of document repositories, picture archive and communication systems (PACS), imaging data archives (i.e., DICOM and Non-DICOM), and supporting common services (i.e., patient identity solutions, terminology standards) leveraging healthcare interoperability standards (i.e., HL7 V2, FHIR)
- Collaborates with peer architects in development of solution architecture unique to medical imaging in the province, and supports the practice of architecture and the development of solution architecture models and documentation
- Develops visionary solutions, as well as the tactical approaches to deliver them; works with product management to support roadmaps and architectural alignment to ensure the delivery of project and product objectives of the Ontario Health medical imaging digital health program.
- Resolves business rules and information and application conflicts involving shared services, applications, and resources
- Leads technical workstream within the OH medical imaging digital health program, communicating and guiding project team members with architecture guidance surrounding assets, business and technical aspects.
