DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Manager, Product Planning the Cross-Carline Product Planning Specialist is responsible for competitive intelligence, analytics, maintenance of dealer-facing product information, and the updating and maintaining of product data in SAP. The Cross-Carline Product Planning Specialist will play a leading role in the ordering and management of pre-production vehicles, as well as preparation of key presentations and departmental documents, and will assist the Manager, Product Planning on long-term, strategic product planning.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or related field.
  • 2-4 year’s previous experience in marketing operations, sales operations, or product planning with a focus on analytics and coordination; automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Highly organized, with keen attention to detail; project management experience a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills including previous experience creating recommendations based on analysis – the ability to “think complexly; speak simply”.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • SAP experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint & Outlook).

Responsibilities:

  • Manage KPIs relating to new product launches and departmental service standards.
  • Lead all departmental analytics, including competitive Value Analysis (VA) to ensure consistency in method/approach across models/segments, and to inform decisions on competitive advantage.
  • Assist in the research, development, and implementation of cross-carline strategies through preparation and dissemination of competitive insights and market trends.
  • Assist in the development of long-range product planning (future models; 2-8 years to market intro.) as well as the preparation and maintenance of long-range product files / sales forecasts.
  • Support Product Planning Supervisors with as-needed assistance in VPOG preparation, SAP updates, POS materials, brochures, website content review and ad-hoc analyses.
  • First point of contact for external product information requests/inquiries – coordinating departmental responses.
  • Management of pre-production vehicles from initial order to final sale (or destruction, as needed); coordination of competitive product trades and the establishment of internal rotation schedules.
  • Management of department budget including processing and tracking of invoices
  • Preparation of presentation materials, and key departmental documents.
