Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE
Based from our Truganina campus, the Cross-Dock Operations Manager leads a team of cross-dock supervisors and operators, and is accountable for key performance indicators related to on-time dispatch, labour utilisation, cost management, and safety. The role ensures compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and CoR legislation. You’ll foster strong collaboration with internal stakeholders and as a focal point of contact for key accounts, as well as supporting and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Specifically, you will:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation, maintaining a strong focus on safety throughout all operations. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and address safety and compliance issues
- Accountable for key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance of linehaul on-time dispatch, labour utilisation and associated costs, safety, etc. Analyse data to identify trends, address challenges, and implement strategies to enhance operational effectiveness and cost-efficiency
- Full accountability for cross-dock cost management
- Address operational challenges promptly, resolving conflicts, and mitigating issues that may arise within the transport process
- Lead a team of cross-dock supervisors and operators, ensuring adherence to company policies and performance standards. Provide guidance, training, and support to optimise individual performance and efficiency
- Foster effective communication and collaboration between own team and others (fleet controllers, linehaul team, warehouse, and customer service), to ensure seamless cross-dock operations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within team, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices. Partner with CEVA Business Process Excellence teams to implement and utilise continuous improvement tools (e.g. KAIZEN).
