POSITION SUMMARY

LCLC’s Intake & Engagement Supervisor (CRwS) is passionate about working closely with individuals who are involved in the criminal legal system. This position plays a key role in supporting the partnership with LCLC, Cook County Jail, Maywood Jail, Rolling Meadows Jail and all future relationships as we scale our CRwS Program. The Intake & Engagement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the intake process prior to individuals’ conditions/detention hearing, ensuring the CRwS program aligns with PFA implementation, and data is recorded in an accurate and timely manner. The Intake & Engagement Supervisor must have strong interpersonal skills to engage clients, motivate LCLC staff, and maintain positive relationships with system stakeholders and community partners alike. This individual will work closely with the Community Team Supervisor and Director of Procedural Justice.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Invested in learning the local community, building relationships with community, and demonstrates an interest in racial and social justice and/or criminal legal reform.

  • Applies effective interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills to prospective partners and maintains strong relationships with external stakeholders and LCLC team members.
  • Takes responsibility for results, is self-reflective and seeks out and considers feedback.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of using computers and navigating software programs, with experience in Salesforce, G suite, and Microsoft Excel a plus.
  • Experience with entering client data and has skills in basic data analysis (or a willingness to learn).
  • Committed to completing daily work in an accurate, timely, and consistent manner.
  • Generates alternative solutions to address client needs and work challenges.
  • Comfortable implementing organizational procedures and making effective and timely decisions.

  • Willingness to live in Austin, East Garfield Park, North Lawndale, and Little Village preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the full team of Intake Client Support Specialists currently located in CCJ, Maywood and Rolling Meadows jails and any future sites.
  • Provide initial training and onboarding to new staff.
  • Support ongoing training of staff and identifying where individual staff need additional training.
  • Communicate operational changes to the team and monitor its implementation.
  • Provide regular 1:1 check-ins to individual staff and complete annual performance evaluations.
  • Hold regular team meetings and communicate updates/requests to CRwS leadership team.
  • Approve staff timesheets and review and respond to all PTO requests, consulting with Program Director to ensure appropriate coverage is maintained.
  • Conduct Holistic Intake with potential clients prior to or soon after their appearance in court, document their needs and contacts to inform their support plan and mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal/external stakeholders and other organizations including pretrial services, probation, parole, support service partners, etc.
  • Ensure intake documents are completed accurately and uploaded to SharePoint within 24hrs.
  • Identify and attend events that increase program visibility and further efforts toward establishing community relationships.
  • Monitor the budget allocated for the Intake team and place new supply orders when necessary.
  • Regularly evaluate intake documents to ensure efficiency and maximize the information collected to support mitigation strategies.
  • It is anticipated that 50% of supervisor responsibilities will be dedicated to leadership and administrative program activities.
  • Work with Director of Procedural Justice and Supervisor Community Team to ensure a positive collaboration in CRwS.
  • Work with community partners to identify process for obtaining and disseminating information to PD’s Office.
  • Anticipate and communicate programmatic needs to Director of Procedural Justice and LCLC leadership when appropriate.
  • Support LCLC leadership in developing and presenting regular updates on program outcomes.
  • Collaborate with defense counsel and Community CSS to develop a Support Plan and coordinate services that would help client to reduce further involvement with the justice system.
  • Review weekly Salesforce reports to identify data gaps and make improvements as needed.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures for the intake team.
  • Complete court and other reports as required by LCLC.
  • Cross-train and, when needed, fill in for other Supervisor roles.
  • Attend all trainings as required for agency and professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned as responsibilities may change and fluctuate as programmatic needs arise.
