About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Risk & Opportunity Manager to join our Combat Systems Integration Integrated Product Team (CSI-IPT) Program Delivery team in Mawson Lakes, SA.
This is a collaboration of four partners to become Australia’s sovereign combat systems provider for all of the Royal Australian Navy’s Tier 1 surface fleet.
Reporting to the Head of Program Management Office – CSI-IPT, this role will be responsible for establishing, coordinating and managing the appropriate risk and opportunity management processes for use within the CSI-IPT enterprise. The successful incumbent will provide subject matter expertise on project risk & opportunity management, quantitative risk modelling, risk & opportunity reporting, along with coordinating risk reviews, maintaining the project risk & opportunity register, and advising relevant stakeholders in the monitoring / auditing of project risk and opportunity in accordance with the CSI-IPT Collaboration Agreement (CCA) and Management System Plan (CMSP).

Responsibilities:

  • Execute and maintain the CSI-IPT Risk & Opportunity Management Plan across the CSI-IPT enterprise
  • Work with stakeholders to capture causal risks & opportunities, assess impacts, develop treatment strategies and agree action plans
  • Track and manage actions to ensure agreed treatments are effected to minimise impacts
  • Use Project Management skills to identify risks and opportunities requiring escalation
  • Provide advisory & SME advice to the CSI-IPT on critical areas of risk, and requirements for corrective actions and decision making
  • Demonstrate leadership in the area of risk & opportunity, and issue management through compliance to CSI-IPT risk policies and frameworks, and industry better practice techniques
  • Training, mentoring and coaching for team members, on risk and opportunity management
  • Interface with external Industry partners to ensure consistence and alignment of processes, tools, and practices with industry best practice.

About YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management and or significant risk / project experience (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management within a Defence environment will be advantageous
  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues within and outside their immediate team, to implement project/business requirements
  • Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated partnership abilities to mentor and assist project/business requirements
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Predict Software.
  • Current Defence Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain
