ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Formal qualifications in Human Resources, Project Management, Communications or a relevant degree or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the creation, review, and dissemination of communication content with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing internal engagement initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills (particularly written and verbal communications) and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop positive working relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks in a flexible and adaptable work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and enhance systems to support effective internal engagement initiatives.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach and a willingness to take initiative in supporting People and Culture activities.
  • Proven ability to use initiative and to work autonomously and effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely express ideas and adapt communication styles to suit stakeholder requirements.
  • Current Queensland Driver’s License.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Experience working within a People and Culture Team would be highly valued.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management systems, Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and SharePoint.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Culture and Capability, the Culture and Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing internal engagement strategies that align with People and Culture’s strategic objectives. In this role, you will establish and maintain collaborative and sustained relationships that contribute towards positive partnerships across the organisation. You will harness your written, oral and visual communication skills to develop communications for a variety of channels, including digital platforms, with the aim of optimal engagement with an internal audience (employees and volunteers).

This role is Permanent, Full-time 37.5 hours per week.

To be successful in this role you will project manage the successful implementation and delivery of key projects and events, and design and implement strategic initiatives to enhance staff performance and foster a culture of engagement. You will be a communications all-rounder with the ability to think strategically, tailor messages and produce high-quality content and materials. You will make a difference by:

  • Developing and implementing tailored internal engagement strategies/plans that support the achievement of People and Culture’s strategic objectives.
  • Providing insights/recommendations and implement engagement initiatives, such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs, mentoring programs, and engagement survey action plans.
  • Developing, implementing, and managing the onboarding process including inductions.
  • Researching and liaising with vendors to source the best fit for engagement initiatives.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining suitable systems and platforms to effectively manage internal communications.
  • Fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and lead internal engagement strategies.
  • Providing communications-related content and data for reporting purposes.
  • Assisting with the monitoring, review, and development of guidelines, policies, forms and templates.
  • Coordinating, scheduling, developing, editing, and publishing a range of communications for an internal audience
