Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Customer Data Operations Manager to lead our team in handling data operations for Corporate Customer Marketing. The main objective of this role is to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and availability of data within our organization. As the Data Operations Manager, you will lead all aspects of the data management processes, systems, and infrastructure, working closely with multi-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making and optimize data operations. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of data management principles.

A day in the life:

  • Lead and run data operations across the organization, providing mentorship, and support in data management processes and systems.
  • Develop and implement strategies for effective data governance, ensuring data quality, consistency, and compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Lead all aspects of implementation and maintenance of the data infrastructure to ensure the commercial teams can use the data optimally and efficiently
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the availability, security, and scalability of data systems.
  • Define and implement data management best practices, including data standards, data cleansing, data transformation, and data documentation.
  • Work closely with collaborators to understand data needs and requirements, and develop scalable solutions to meet those needs.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to improve data operations efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Know the latest industry trends and advancements in data management, recommending and implementing relevant technologies and tools.
  • Supervise and analyze data performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing data-driven solutions.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates on data operations to senior management.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 6+ years of experience in data operations, data management, or related roles, with a focus on handling data on the backend.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience leading a team.
  • Proficiency in data management tools and technologies, such as databases (e.g., SQL, Oracle), data integration tools, and data governance platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of data management principles, data quality, and data governance best practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Superb communication and teamwork skills to work optimally with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with data migration, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Understanding of data privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
