Description:

We are looking for a Customer Resident Engineer to join our Compliance team, based in Skellefteå, while being located in Ingolstadt, Germany. Reporting to the Warranty Manager, you’ll be the liaison between Northvolt (especially Skellefteå) and our customers, overseeing and analyzing customer complaints. Your expertise will be pivotal in shaping our approach to field failures and complaints, making a significant impact on our sustainable future.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality management and a proven track record in resolving field failure issues. Proficiency in German is essential, as effective communication in this language will facilitate increased collaboration and achievement.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Customer Resident Engineer, you will play a significant role in assisting the Compliance team for ensuring quality excellence. Your day-to-day tasks will include act as a pivotal contact point between the internal stakeholders and customers and building strong working relationships. Your role will be instrumental in enhancing our quality management procedures and supporting automotive projects. The role requires being consistently present at our client’s premises, with frequent trips to the Skellefteå plant and other production locations when necessary. These visits may require prolonged stays and involvement in field testing and validation tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise between Northvolt stakeholders and the customers and collect relevant supporting data to address quality-related inquiries.
  • Determine potential technical issues or customer complaints and support the team in the initiations of corrective actions and rework effectively.
  • Gather and recording customer feedback which contribute to continuous product improvements, innovations, and enhancements.
  • Assist in offering pro-active problem-solving assistance to production facilities, both domestically and internationally.
  • Co-ordinate in initiatives with regard to product quality improvements and enhance the customer experience.
  • Support the improvement of Customer-Supplier agreements (e.g.: Inspection Catalogues), perform sorting activities if needed and transfer knowledge and lessons learnt back into the plant.
  • Prepare technical reports, performance metrics, and presentations to update both the customer and the manufacturer on the status of ongoing projects and technical issues.

  • A relevant academic degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Proficiency in quality management, particularly in field failure analysis within manufacturing or similar industries.
  • Sound knowledge of quality processes, standards, and regulatory criteria.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and an aptitude for successful collaboration within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in analyzing customer data, feedback, and complaints, enabling the identification of trends and proactive implementation of preventive measures.
  • Demonstrated background in maintaining adherence to quality standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a meticulous approach to resolving quality issues.
