Robert Half has a fantastic career opportunity for an articulate, highly-skilled Customer Service Representative with one of our clients in the insurance industry. This could be the long-term contract / temporary Customer Service Representative position you’re looking for, if you can work in office in West Des Moines, Iowa!
Key responsibilities
Provides highly responsive, time-sensitive, high volume, customer-oriented service designed to enhance Company relationships with customers in order to exceed their service expectations.
Research and resolve issues related to accounting, claims, and new business for paper and online methods.
Receives and responds to telephone and written correspondence inquiries from customers.
Provides information and services related to new business, claims, policy information and policy changes, either directly or indirectly by coordinating responses with other teams (e.g., ordering letters/forms, updating policy status, faxing/emailing required documents, ordering duplicate policies).
Assist customers with on-line service such as On-line Enrollment (troubleshooting errors when submitting new business), general reporting, online account admin settings, managing overall settings within the system, password updates, and general navigation of the system.
Working with agent, resolves problem new business to ensure compliance with state regulatory requirements and company standards, and subsequent policy issuance.
Working with customers, sets up claims on-line and may authorize claim payment by draft for claims submitted via phone, fax or internet. Requests and tracks claims requirements to facilitate timely claims payments.
Answers commission and compensation questions from agents and counselors.
Assists the management in: reviewing procedures for updates and possible additional training needs, implementing changes in procedure to improve efficiency and affect possible cost savings and maintaining proper production records as required.
Ability to be at work on a regular, timely and consistent basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Equivalent to high school degree
Completion of a two-year associate degree program in a job-related field is preferred.
Five or more years of customer service experience in a financial services organization, preferably life insurance, involving extensive in-bound and out-bound phone work is a plus.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office products: Outlook and Word
Exceptional communication skills including oral and written communication via telephone, computer, and in-person. Strong active listening skills.
Customer oriented with the ability to engage effectively with all types of people in sometimes emotionally charged situations.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Ability to assimilate a wide range of information and procedures in the execution of duties.
Demonstrate good judgement in the application of policies and procedures to enhance services and support to customers.
