The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a highly organised Customer Service Specialist to join our Equipment & Instrument Project Team on a hybrid basis in Lutterworth, Leicestershire. You will be required to come to our offices two days out of five on a weekly basis. Initial training of 2 weeks + will be fully office based.
The ideal candidate will have strong organisation & communication skills, high attention to detail and passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
The successful Customer Service Specialist will be dealing with high value specialised orders, projects & tenders, high requirements of standard orders, provide project updates, deal with internal customers as well as external vendors & suppliers.

The team
The Technical Customer Service Specialist will be part of a wider Team of 5.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience: At least 1-3 years experience in a customer service or project coordinator role preferably within distribution or logistics.
  • Education: High school diploma required;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and team working skills.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with senior leadership across a variety of functions.
  • Collaboration tool: Good IT skills (MS Office including Excel, CRM & SAP would be beneficial).

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • To manage the projects/tenders and specialised orders post processing to provide full after sales support within the department and manage workload within challenging response times.
  • Provide support for Customers, Capital Equipment Specialists, Internal Project Specialists, The Business Development Team, Vendors and Account Managers to manage all objectives and provide high level of customer service in line with Avantor’s ICARE Values
  • Project management for tender orders and CAPEX projects post order to coordinate deliveries to POU and manage the customers expectations.
  • Implement project work, business reports and core tasks in a timely manner when required
  • Liaise with the operations team and specialised carriers to arrange delivery of goods to POU and proactively assess risks and potential site issues to manage the customer expectations for specialised delivery and highlight concerns on site
  • Liaise with customers and engineers to ensure the completion of service requirements, installations, IQ/OQ/PQ and site survey and checklists when required.
  • Investigate any queries on orders, equipment lead time and delivery specifications, Billing, Invoicing, and financial queries
  • Highlight areas on non-conformance through the company compliance process and work with vendors and customers for swift resolution.
  • Establish relationships with suppliers to ensure support for business growth.
  • To work with the field-based teams to help drive sales activity and business growth for capital equipment. Attend customer visits with Capital Equipment Specialist & Sales conferences when required.
  • Support health and safety, mental health, and wellbeing in the workplace.
  • Ensure all business is transacted within the parameters of the Avantor policy and procedure. Ensure all goods handling and processes are compliant and flag issues immediately.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to train in ABS (Avantor Business Systems) would be beneficial.
