DESCRIPTION
We are very excited to have partnered with our client in the aviation industry, who is looking to add a Customs and Distribution Coordinator to their team based in Dublin
Customs Tasks
- Main point of contact for all customs activities for both imports and exports.
- Responsible for providing clearance instructions, recording customs information and maintaining record-keeping protocols within the business(s).
- Responsible for managing all customs regulations for both Ireland and the wider EU community whilst reporting changes/deficiencies for enhancement.
- Responsible for the monthly intrastat report and for any other reporting criteria as and when required.
- Source, build, and maintain relationships with Customs Agents.
- Be the point of contact for Irish Revenue in times of Audit and day-to-day inquiries.
- Responsible for maintaining any other reports be it regulatory or internal.
- Management of the dedicated mainbox for customs and distribution, whilst answering emails in a quick and efficient manner.
Distribution Tasks
- Main point of contact for all domestic logistics moments within Ireland.
- Coordinate the movement of inbound and outbound freight by air, road and sea in support of business operations, whilst maintaining Bristow compliance with local import/export laws, regulations, and controls.
- Liaise with Bristow’s freight suppliers in order to ensure that the best shipping method is used observing the cost benefit of the available options.
- Build, source and maintain relationships with Freight Forwarders
- Maintain accurate records for all import and export activities, including intra EU and domestic movements.
- Contribute and provide continuing improvement to the current business model whilst reducing waste where incurred
- Working with the Export Compliance Manager and Logistics Manager to maintain awareness in regulatory activities and create and adhere to internal processes and procedures to reduce business exposure to those regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to work in safe manner in adherence with company rules
- Meticulous record keeper
- Ability to work under their own initiative.
- Good communication skills with the ability to articulate and present information clearly.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to work as part of a small team.
- Approachable to both internal and external staff members
- Flexible to assist covering colleagues during absence.
- Previous Customs or Logistics experience preferred
- ERP experience, preferably SAP
- Microsoft Office experience, particularly Word and Excel
