DESCRIPTION

  • Title: Customs and Distribution CoordinatorLocation: Leixlip/LucanReport To: Line ManagerPERMANENT ROLEFULLY ONSITEThe successful candidate will provide frontline support and expertise in every aspect of Customs and Logistics for the both the Irish and EU businesses.Responsibilities:
  • Main point of contact for all customs activities for imports and exports and all domestic logistics within Ireland.
  • Provide clearance instructions, documenting customs information and maintaining record-keeping protocol within company.
  • Management of customs regulations for Ireland and EU while reporting areas for improvement.
  • Responsible for the monthly Intrastat report and other reporting criteria when required.
  • Source, build and maintain relationships with Customs Agents and Freight Forwarders.
  • Point of contact for Irish Revenue during audits and for day-to-day enquiries.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date with regulatory or internal reports.
  • Management of the dedicated mailbox for customs and distribution and answering emails in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate both inbound and outbound freight by air, road, and sea in accordance with company operations while upkeeping compliance with local import and exports laws, regulations, and controls.
  • Communicate with company freight suppliers to make sure the best shipping method is used.
  • Upkeep documentation for every import and export activity which includes EU and domestic activities.
  • Identify continuous improvement initiatives for current business model and reducing waste where possible.
  • Work closely with the Export Compliance Manager and Logistics Manager to ensure awareness of regulatory activities is maintained and create and adhere to internal processes and procedures.
  • Education and Experience:
  • Previous logistics and/or customs experience is desired.
  • ERP experience, ideally SAP.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work as part of a team and of own initiative.
  • Flexibility to help with covering colleagues when required.
  • Excellent record keeper with ability to work in a safe manner and comply with company rules and regulations.
