Description:
My client, a global logistics provider are seeking a new Customs Compliance Executive to join their ever growing team in North Dublin. This is an exciting role well suited to an ambitious professional looking for a new challenge and being part of a hardworking and collaborate team.

As part of the accomplished compliance team, you will report to the Customs Compliance Manager & Audit Supervisor and undertake internal audits of customs declarations. Your responsibilities will include addressing internal and customer inquiries related to compliance, offering guidance on customs matters, and collaborating with Irish Revenue & UK HMRC for advice and post-clearance inquiries.
This is a full time permanent position with standard working hours of Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm and is full time on site.
Starting salary for this position will be €35,000.
KEY EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALITIES:
- 2 Years’ Experience in dealing with Customs authorities.
- Freight forwarding experience would be desirable.
- Enjoy working with high level of autonomy, empowered to tackle potential issues.
- Used to work in a multi-cultural and international environment.
- Capable of building strong relationships based on empathy and trust
- Proven experience in Customs Compliance.
- An understanding of CPC codes, Customs Tariffs and Security Declarations.
- AEO Knowledge would be desirable.
- Strong knowledge of customs systems, requirements, and query resolution.
- Attention to detail driven with natural curiosity and ability to develop and implement systems and processes.

Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Serve as the Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for Trade Compliance in the designated business area
- Supervise compliance with customs and trade regulations.
- Establish, document, and regularly update trade compliance processes and procedures in line with Global Standards.
- Develop and conduct training sessions across departments within Janssen Sciences.
- Assist in managing site assessments and implementing improvements as part of the Global Trade Compliance Internal Assessment program.
- Ensure compliance with various customs special procedures (e.g., IPR, OPR, Customs Warehousing, Temporary Import).
- Support participation in Supply Chain Security and Import Compliance Programs (e.g., AEO).
- Maintain customs-related records as per Depuy and Legal requirements.
- Lead duty savings projects and collaborate closely with the Global Trade Controls leadership team in the EMEA region.
- Analyze import/export data to identify potential duty-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate internal and external trade compliance audits efficiently.
- Collaborate with various departments (Supply Chain, Logistics, Tax, Finance, Sites, etc.) to support corporate planning initiatives.
- Assist in collecting, evaluating, and retaining documentation as per departmental requirements.
- Act as a liaison with internal partners and external service providers, including customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies.
- Assist in researching and preparing binding rulings, scope rulings, and post-entry amendments.
- Support HTS classification (US and International).
- Assist in international export programs, including screenings and preparation of necessary export documents such as COO requests.
- Review post-shipment/entry documents for Customs audits.
- Support other initiatives of the International Logistics and Trade Compliance team as needed.
