Description:

SUMMARY:

  • The Cyber Intelligence Analyst I shall support the Operational Intelligence Division (OID), Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information (OSII), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) with intelligence analysis and investigative support.

Responsibilities:

  • Using analytical techniques to gain target information while supporting major complex multi-defendant investigations.
  • Conducting quality control in order to determine validity and relevance priority of information gathered.
  • Developing and maintaining computerized intelligence databases to meet specific needs of the Division and generating statistical and relational reports for Division managers and Headquarters’ programs and projects.
  • Coordinating initiatives with Headquarters’ intelligence research specialists and other team members.
  • Advising team members on specific findings and recommending appropriate courses of action.
  • Performing liaison and coordination functions with counterparts and personnel throughout the intelligence and law enforcement communities.
  • Collecting, evaluating, analyzing, and extracting information from various sources, sometimes involving raw intelligence, and compiling it into useful, finished analytical products, reports, and correspondence.
  • Using intelligence tools to verify and/or identify the identity of subjects of investigations.
  • Using Social Media Intelligence (SOCMINT) to assist with investigations.
  • Using Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) to assist with investigations.
  • De-anonymizing individuals/suspects.
  • Documenting and disseminating analytic findings.
  • Using appropriate databases, geospatial data, and resources to manage customer relationships, including determining customer needs/requirements/expectations.
  • Identifying intelligence gaps and assisting in the development of operational programs through regular review of message traffic, intelligence information, data analysis, and from other sources of information.
  • Coordinating with intelligence research specialists and other team members to exchange information, resolve problems, eliminate duplication of effort, and coordinate multi-divisional activities.
