Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our Technology on a permanent basis. The role can be based at our Thorpe park or London South Bank office, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.
Unravel Mysteries: Dive deep into investigations, swiftly identifying and remedying Information Security incidents. From inception to resolution, you’ll craft comprehensive reports and extract invaluable lessons to fortify our defences.
Stay Vigilant: Monitor and triage alerts with lightning speed, ensuring no cyber threat slips past our radar. Your prompt action will be pivotal in maintaining our cyber resilience.
Expert Recommendations: With your technical prowess, you’ll recommend cutting-edge cyber defence controls and refine processes post-incident, ensuring Merlin stays steps ahead of potential threats.
Fortify Defences: Conduct thorough assessments of vulnerabilities lurking within our IT assets and systems, bolstering our digital stronghold against potential breaches.
Hunt the Hunters: Proactively engage in threat hunting activities, constantly evolving with the dynamic threat landscape to keep our defences razor-sharp.
️ Intelligence Integration: Respond swiftly to cyber intelligence reports, seamlessly integrating insights to enhance Merlin’s security posture.
Track and Report: Identify, track, and swiftly remediate threats and vulnerabilities across our information assets and networks, while generating insightful status reports and key performance indicators.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, supporting and maintaining security operations and incident response
  • Demonstrated track record and extensive experience in technical security, showcasing proficient technical IT security knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Security technology stack; Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra, etc.
  • Ability to conduct thorough investigations into security incidents, analyse logs, and determine appropriate response actions.
  • Experience in assessing threats and vulnerabilities, with a deep understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and IT infrastructure.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficient in stakeholder management, adept at working collaboratively within a team environment while championing IT and information security principles.
  • Experience utilizing SIEM tools and proficiency in relevant querying languages (e.g., KQL, SPL, etc.).
  • Previous exposure to a SOC or similar environment is advantageous.
  • Preferred qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, certifications such as GCIH, Security+, etc.
