Mō te tūranga | About the Role
As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be a member of Westpac’s dedicated Security Operations Team responsible for detecting and responding to all security threats and incidents.
Cyber Security Analysts perform real-time log analysis providing network and data security for Westpac New Zealand. Through an in-depth understanding of exploits and vulnerabilities, Cyber Security Analysts evaluate the type and severity of security events and resolve issues following the appropriate corrective action, or escalation procedures.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • 2+ years’ experience in security operations, penetration testing security engineering, or adjacent domains.
  • Good foundational and technical knowledge in security, web technologies, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
  • A solid investigatory mindset, a keen eye for anomalies, and motivated to dive deeper, ask questions, and discover root causes.
  • A proven experience and track record in security incident response and security operations
  • Desirable experience in security platforms and tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR etc
  • Wide-ranging technical skills and understanding of web technologies, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
