About the Role

As the Cyber Security Engineer, you will be providing a centralised security function across all Fisher & Paykel infrastructure globally including but not limited to Australia, Mexico, USA, China, Thailand, and New Zealand including both internal and external parties incl. 3rd party vendors, SecOps etc. You’ll be responsible as the subject matter expert supporting global operations across multiple disciplines of information security including security architecture, standards, solutions design, and implementation; handles development of standards/procedures in compliance with policies and security best practice. Your responsibilities include:

  • Application Security Development: Apply established security knowledge to the domain of application security. Focus on integrating security within the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including threat modelling, risk assessment, and vulnerability management.
  • Collaborative Security Implementation: Work effectively with development and operations teams in an agile setting. Apply security expertise to advocate for secure coding practices and integrate security in application development.
  • Incident Response and Application Monitoring: Leverage security experience to monitor and respond to incidents, focusing on application-specific threats in agile and DevSecOps environments.
  • Access and Authentication in Application Context: Utilise expertise in access control and authentication, tailoring these to application security within agile frameworks.
  • Research and Advancement in Application Security: Investigate security breaches and incidents with an emphasis on application security. Stay informed on the latest trends and advancements.
  • Promotion of Best Practices in Application Security: Develop and advocate for best practices and security standards in application security, particularly within agile and DevSecOps frameworks.
  • Learning and Growth in Application Development Security: Enhance skills in programming languages and frameworks, focusing on security implications in various development environments, including cloud platforms.
  • Application-Centric Security Tools Expertise: Develop expertise in security testing tools and techniques specific to application security, such as static and dynamic analysis and code reviews.

About You

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer with a solid foundation in general security principles, aiming to specialise in application security. This role suits individuals who have significant experience in security analysis or similar roles, and are eager to deepen their expertise in application security, particularly within agile and DevSecOps environments. To excel this role, you’ll have:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a security engineer or in a similar role.
  • Experience working in multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience working in an agile teams is essential, with a preference for candidates who have experience in a DevSecOps model.
  • Working knowledge with SQL and Database Management
  • Proactive learning attitude, eager to adapt to evolving application security landscapes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new challenges.
  • Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and security advocacy.
