THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Technology team is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to safeguard New Hope Group’s information technology systems and data from potential threats, vulnerabilities, and cyberattacks. Reporting directly to the Group Technology Manager, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the security and resilience of our digital ecosystem.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, you should bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in IT security.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing security controls based on industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • A medium level of autonomy in day-to-day security activities.
  • An understanding of networking, server, and storage technologies and architecture.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the business, including internal Information Technology functions to:
  • Identify potential security risks.
  • Assess the effectiveness of existing security controls.
  • Implement solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Design and implement robust security infrastructure.
  • Monitor threats and respond promptly, working closely with Information Technology team and external vendors.
  • Develop and enforce security policies.
  • Conduct security awareness training and education.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and monitoring.
