Role Purpose:
The overall goal is to manage the Nordic Cyber Lines portfolio and leading a Cyber Line team in accordance with the Nordic Cyber Lines Strategy

The role is to;

  • Define the Nordic Cyber Lines Strategy and Action Plan
  • Provide strategic underwriting direction,
  • Produce a profit and to set and achieve the financial goals for the portfolio across the product line across both countries in accordance with the business plan.
  • To ensure underwriting integrity through appropriate deployment of underwriting guidelines and controls, consistency of approach towards risk selection, pricing and use of capacity whilst recognising market conditions.
  • Lead Cyber team
  • Manage the recruitment and appraisal process to ensure adequate and appropriately skilled and experienced staff within the team

Key Responsibilities :

  • Financial Goals . To assist in the financial planning for the Nordic Cyber Line and ensuring that the goals and requirements as set out in the business plan are achieved. To deliver underwriting profit and meet financial targets as defined in business plan including new business, retention, pricing, loss ratio and business mix.
  • Portfolio Integrity . To manage portfolio, develop and maintain underwriting integrity by ensuring effective communication throughout both countries to ensure responsiveness to changing business environment. To ensure quality control of the product line by undertaking quantitative underwriting reviews, running regular management meetings.
  • Producer Management . To manage and support direct reports to achieve business strategies. Engage with Business Development to ensure the Product line strategies are well known internally & externally. Support producer management initiatives with key brokers, strategic partners and core broker panel in line with plan.
  • Leadership Management Provide direction and leadership of the Fire team. Lead by example. Coach, support and mentor underwriters within team.Procedures. To review, develop and implement procedures to maximise operational effectiveness and update underwriting guidelines. To oversee peer review process to ensure risks are written within guidelines or are forwarded for exception reports. To enforce regulatory and internal requirements as to workflow, control and monitoring.
  • Operational Management. To develop and implement business plans for direct reports. To define underwriting authority levels. To allocate resources to meet business objectives. To ensure the PMP process is adhered. To define roles for employees, manage and review performance of direct reports and to provide appropriate training/ mentoring support. To manage a team of appropriately skilled and experienced underwriters.
  • Chubb Representative. To represent and promote Chubb and maintain a permanent contact with internal colleagues and clients as well as major domestic and middle market clients at the highest level.Maintain a significant involvement in major and high profile accounts, developing also a consistent strategy in the middle market segment and solving the underwriting issues.
  • To work within the framework of Chubb ethical and service standards

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Degree level
  • Specific insurance education
  • A Master’s degree would be a plus

EXPERIENCE :

  • Expert understanding and working knowledge of specialist product line, the insurance market and competitors.
  • Solid experience of dealing with brokers and clients. Results driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative.
  • A highly experienced professional who has a strong external reputation.
  • Proved experience on leadership, training, mentoring and people development.
