Description:

SUMMARY

We have a current opportunity for a “Cybersecurity Intern” for up to 6 months, as a part of the DoD SkillBridge Program, located at our office in Luxembourg. Remote/Hybrid schedule may be considered, depending upon candidate geographic location. In this role you will be trained and perform daily monitoring and response to cybersecurity incidents across Local and Wide-Area Networks; work with various systems/technologies to ensure standard security controls are in place, learn operational security systems and practice the skills to protect our information systems.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience as a systems or network administrator on a DoD, federal, or DoD Contractor information system that complies with NIST SP 800-53 or NIST SP 800-171
  • Experience working in Security Operations Center
  • Experience working in the NSA or DoD Electronic Key Material Systems
  • Experience managing vulnerability scanning, IDPS, SIEM or EDR tools.
  • Working toward a degree in cybersecurity or information security
  • Experience using the Risk Management Framework for Federal Information Systems in NIST SP 800-37.

  • Foundational understanding of basic networking technologies (routers, switches, proxies, etc.)
  • Foundational understanding of basic security technologies (IDPS, firewalls, antivirus, SIEM, etc.)
  • Foundational understanding of threat identification and mitigation.
  • Foundational understanding of vulnerability scanning and management.
  • Fundamental understanding of encryption technologies used for data in transit and data at rest.
  • Basic understanding of information system security design and compliance.
  • Be a US Citizen due to access to controlled information systems and security vulnerability information

Responsibilities:

  • Learn Systems and monitor corporate assets for security events, breaches, and incidents.
  • Respond to security threats and incidents in real time.
  • Review and recommend security measures to protect information assets from threats.
  • Detect and address vulnerabilities across corporate information infrastructure.
  • Document security events, incidents and information security controls.
  • Determine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes.
  • Research security enhancements and stay up to date on information technology trends and security standards
  • Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams and management.
