Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:
- Mentor and lead the Child Protection team, creating and encouraging a positive and collaborative culture for both staff and service users.
- Ensure all Child Youth Families Programs are appropriately managed in compliance with legislative, funding, and regulatory obligations and best practice.
- Advocate on issues affecting clients to influence the federal and state government agenda and provide comprehensive and timely advice on Child Protection and key issues impacting on services.
- Develop and implement supervision and communication strategies throughout services that are effective in enabling teams to manage change, establish accountability, and ensure staff are informed.
- Oversee the management of critical incidents and report any breaches of the Standards of Care and other relevant legislative requirements to other Managers as appropriate.
- Develop, monitor and review individual safety plans and individual crisis management plans for children and young people and program safety plans as required.
- Recognise opportunities to enhance services and systems/policies and capitalise on these through effective change of strategies
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Services field (or related field) and/or equivalent experience in a similar position in the industry
- Comprehensive understanding of the Human Services sector, focusing on contemporary child protection and family issues.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, agencies, specialists, families, and the community.
- Strong research and analytical abilities to identify interrelationships and provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Proactive problem-solving skills to anticipate and address issues, selecting optimal solutions from diverse options.
- In-depth knowledge of quality assurance and risk management relevant to children’s services provision.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for presentations, negotiations, mediations, and conflict resolution.
- Licensed Care Approval (LCS2)
- Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening
- Drivers Licence
