Description:

Reporting to the Director, Content Protection, the Data Analyst is tasked with day-to-day oversight of the Content Protection Group Database and performing expansion, technical maintenance, and data analytics functions to support SPE’s global content protection/anti-piracy efforts and related strategic initiatives. The function will include responding to regular and ad-hoc business intelligence initiatives and inquiries and will require technical experience with large databases and data warehouse platforms (such as Snowflake and/or Teradata) along with analytics automation software (such as Alteryx or the like).
The Data Analyst will work closely with all members of the Content Protection Group and interact with the broader SPE community, including I.T., technology development, sales planning, marketing, and distribution. Specific core responsibilities will include:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 1-3 Years of experience in SQL
  • Quick learner who is self-motivated, well-organized, and very detail-oriented
  • Proven qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of the MS Office suite, especially Excel
  • Interest and enthusiasm for making sense of data and how it can help SPE business
  • Interest and enthusiasm for films, television series, and anime content helpful
  • Interest and enthusiasm in content protection/anti-piracy helpful
  • Knowledge or experience in database creation and management, data scientist projects, analytical roles, or the like
  • Business, Research, Economics, I.S. or I.T. background or relevant experience
  • Experience with visual analytics software, Tableau preferred but not required
  • Other programming languages such as R and Python preferred but not required
  • Technical experience with data warehouse platforms (such as Snowflake and/or Teradata) preferred but not required
  • Experience with analytics automation software (such as Alteryx or the like) preferred but not required
    The anticipated base salary for this position is $90,000-$117,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing day-to-day functionality of the Content Protection Group Database
  • Aggregating, cleansing, and querying data via SQL as part of weekly processing responsibilities
  • Managing and building various reports/dashboards and reports on-the-fly, specifically within Tableau or other relevant software
  • Preparing reports and ad hoc requests for internal and external stakeholders
  • Conducting statistical analysis utilizing various data points including, but not limited to, financial data, release schedules, content protection data, and consumer behavior data
  • Analyzing trends in entertainment consumption (both legitimate and illegitimate)
