Description:

Want to revolutionize the future of education and do meaningful work that transforms future generations’ lives?
Crimson Education is a Series C, global EdTech startup founded in 2013 with the idea that through personalized education and technology, we can transform students into the world leaders of tomorrow. We’re now in 28 markets and have an ambitious team of 700 that’s rapidly expanding across the globe. Our tech platform connects 3000 tutors/mentors to students aiming to achieve admission and scholarships to top universities or their dream career pathway.
As a Data Analyst at Crimson, you’ll use your quantitative background and strong SQL skills to dive deep into datasets to guide decision-making. You will create dashboards to help us understand how we are doing as an organization - everything from whether our students are on-track to achieve their university goals and how satisfied our customers are, to how efficiently we are operating as a company and how much value we are driving for the business (revenue, margins).
It is critical that our Data Analysts are comfortable wearing multiple hats - communicating with stakeholders who have different needs, and owning the reporting process end-to-end from talking to stakeholders about their needs, translating that into an action plan, and then executing on that plan to take raw data in tables all the way to a final dashboard that stakeholders can use.
This is a full-time position, that can be worked remotely or in one of our many offices around the globe.

HOW YOU’LL KNOW YOU’RE CRUSHING IT (KPIS):

  • High satisfaction with the following:
  • Dashboards are easy to use and understand
  • Dashboards are accurate
  • Dashboards are delivered with fast turnaround time
  • Quality metrics:
  • Documentation
  • Bug-free codeClear and sensible code structure
-

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE REQUIRED?

  • Technical skills and experience
  • Ability to create and maintain advanced SQL queries
  • Critical thinking - in particular the ability to follow a sequence of if-then clauses to completion, for example in edge case analysis
  • Experience translating data analyses into business insights is a plus
  • Computer science background or coding experience a plus
  • Soft skills and experience
  • Experience communicating with various stakeholders to clarify product and data requests and clearly communicate and explain report results
  • Thoroughness in considering all edge cases; lack of thoroughness will make it very difficult to succeed
  • Ability and desire to ensure that the data is as accurate as possible; misleading data should not be communicated to stakeholders
  • Having a growth mindset: there are always new features to develop, new problems to solve, new hats to wear, and new areas to upskill

Responsibilities:

  • Creating reports and dashboards that allow all our operations teams to effectively track student progress and product performance
  • Maintaining data infrastructure to ensure accurate reporting and data collection best practices
  • Troubleshooting and providing creative solutions to any data problems that may arise
  • Understanding business needs and ins and outs of each arm of our operations organization (strategy consulting, customer success, tutoring, various product lines)
