As a Data Analyst within PNC’s Enterprise Data Governance organization, you will be based in Cleveland, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX, or Rocky Mount, NC. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager’s discretion.
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Data Catalog Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible helping with training, knowledge management, and process improvement activities to help drive adoption and maximize its value across the organization. You will work closely with data analysts, business users, and IT professionals to ensure they can easily discover, understand, and trust the data they need to make informed decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical audiences during training sessions and program meetings (Comfort in front of Alation Training students asynchrony or synchronously)
  • Strong writing experience developing and delivering training and program experience
  • Ability to work 1:1 coaching users on basic Alation Data Catalog skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    Job Description
    Provides support to the business and other internal IT organizations regarding data definition standards, architectures, and policies.
    Provides support to business users for mining and interpretation of warehoused and operational data.
    Plans and performs activities regarding designed data models for systems development.
    Resolves metadata and data sourcing problems. Maintains metadata and data dictionaries.
    Manages data definitions and data traceability within data repository to improve documentation and coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver training materials: Create and deliver engaging training sessions to educate users on Alation functionalities and best practices.
  • Participate in defining the requirements for catalog landing pages, news articles, recognition, and gamification implementation
  • Plan and execute community programs including meetups, community of interest (cross-functional roles) meetings and online sharing such as newsletters and program status updates.
  • Collect communication requirements and create a multi-level, enterprise communication plan
  • Define and create branding and brand standards for the program.
  • Define recognition and reward programs
  • Support data discovery and understanding: Assist users in finding relevant data assets by providing guidance on search queries, navigation, and data lineage analysis.
  • Promote data governance and compliance: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement data governance policies within the Alation platform.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest data catalog technologies: Continuously learn and adapt to emerging trends and advancements in the data catalog space.
  • Support the Data Catalog Manager with ongoing program maintenance and improvement activities.
