SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst II is responsible for working with an assigned business unit within MEM to help build and support data driven decision making. The analyst will be accountable for leveraging and building strong business acumen while bringing data-driven storytelling to bring actionable insights to business leaders. In this role, the data analyst will prep, collect, organize, and distill insights from various data sources. This role will also be accountable for leveraging various tools and technologies that build and provide strong data-visuals.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, such as data analytics/science, mathematics, computer science, etc.

EXPERIENCE:

3 plus years of working expiring in a data analyst role
3 plus years working with data visualization software
1 plus year(s) working with data warehouses/data lakes
3 plus years in insurance industry

Business Acumen
With minimal guidance, collaborate with assigned functional areas to build an understanding of business needs.
Build a deeper understanding of the assigned function(s) with a focus on anticipating future business needs.
Data Analysis
With limited supervision, this role will be responsible for collecting, organizing, disseminating large amounts of data with high attention to detail and accuracy.
In collaboration with the Data Engineering team, this role will apply basic SQL skills to build necessary datasets for analysis.
The Data Analyst II will work with the assigned functional area(s) to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
This role will begin to synthesize deeper insights, learning and developing leveraging more advanced statistical methods to help build complete insights and forecasting around threats, risks, and opportunities.
Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine business initiatives’ success.
Data Visualization & Storytelling
This role will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality PowerBI reports.
Develop concise, complete, and vivid presentations (written and verbal) that tell a complete and cohesive story in non-technical terms.
